August Goals

So I thought it would be a good idea to set some monthly goals for myself and see how I did at the end of the month.

  1. Blog for me! - I am struggling with blogging here because I don't want it to be all about Alex, but you know what, that's my life right now and that's what's going on, that's what I'm going to blog about, and hopefully I don't lose readers.

  2. Continue breastfeeding Alex - So far this is going pretty well, but somedays it's a little frustrating. We've successfully gone 2 months and now we try for 3!

  3. Work on Alex's sleep schedule - I'll post an update in his monthly post next week, but we've been working on night time sleeping this past week. A nap schedule is next on my list!

  4. Feel good about my body - I've got about 8lbs left of baby weight to lose and would like to lose a little more, but really the number is not that important. It's about feeling good about my body and the way I look!

  5. Take more pictures with my camera - So far I've taken a picture of Alex every day, but not all of them with the camera, some with the iPhone and I'd really like to take 1-day with the camera (and the iPhone too somedays!)

  6. Carve out time for just the hubby and I once a week - We are working really hard on us time, but it doesn't always happen. I know it won't be easy, but at least once a week, I'd like us to have us time, whether it's just watching a movie, or going out to dinner (even if Alex is with us).

Whew, thats a lot! Let's see how I do!

Bye Bye Baby Weight Week 2

Week 2:

This Week’s Loss/Gain: -2.4lbs (might be a bit off b/c I didn't weigh in last week)
Total Weight Lost: 32.4lbs
Weight to Go: 14.6lbs

Food:
  1. I did all right with this, this week, I didn't always have 2 snacks a day but when I did they were decent snacks. I also ate 3 meals every day (at least from what i can remember).

  2. As for soda, I only slipped up one day, when we went out to dinner and they just kept re-filling, and of course I kept on drinking!

  3. I successfully drank 6 glasses of water each day, though it appears I don't drink much during the day and then drink a lot more/am really thirsty in the evening.

Right now I'm not going to count calories just yet. I'm going to see how I go making choices on my own.

Fitness:
This was good and bad.. The good is that I did something 4 days this week, the bad, not my goals, but I'm not disappointed. You see, it's just plain too hot to walk with Alex. The heat is just too much for him when it's 90+ at 9:00am. So I did the Shred 1 day and a short walk, took a hike 2 days, and went to the gym another day. The hike was shaded but I have to wear the carrier and it gets heavy. 1 day I carried Jim and the other, Kurt joined so he carried him. I did crunches 3-days and I'm up to 60 of each type (regular crunches, reverse crunches (just started to only at 40), and side crunches). So I'm not saying I met my goals, but I met a modified form of them.

Goals for this Week:
  1. Drink 8 glasses of water every day.

  2. Get exercise 5days this week.
    1. Visit the gym at least 2x this week

    2. Attend Moms in Motion 2x this week

    3. Either walk or do a video or go to the gym

  3. Determine how/when to start running, goal 5K is October 30th

Bye Bye Baby Weight Week 1

Well tomorrow I'll be 7weeks postpartum, so I thought I'd start linking up with Tami. I had hoped to do so last week but was out of town and didn't get a chance to blog. My numbers are from the week before too, since I won't be home until late tonight to weigh myself.

Week 1:

This Week’s Loss/Gain: N/A (being week 1, I'm going to start from scratch)
I gained 41lbs over my pregnancy so that's where we're starting from (plus the few extra I want to drop).

Total Weight Lost: 30lbs

Weight to Go: 16lbs (though 21 would be ideal)

Food:
This week I'm focusing on getting in 3 good meals, and 2 (healthy) snacks. Sometimes I forget to eat. Drinking only 1 diet coke per day and starting with 6 glasses of water per day.

Fitness:
I was given the ok to exercise. I have been doing some walking. (Like a 4-miler yesterday). I have a mommy and me class to find out info on this week so I can go next week. I would like to start with walking 4 times per week (3-days for 2+mi) and doing forward and side crunches every day. So far I'm at 3 sets of 10 each day, building my way up. I also need to figure out my workout plan from now forward.

Goals for this Week:
  1. Drink 6 glasses of water every day.

  2. Walk 4 times and do crunches (at least 30/day).

  3. Find out info for class, I've already paid/signed-up just need to know the location.

Next thing is to decide on a workout plan and figure out if I want to do Weight Watchers or just count calories.

Someone went in the pool and enjoyed it! He's ready for lessons. (excuse my awesome maternity bathing suit)

Miscellaneous Monday

  1. Delicious-ness - I struggle with what to bring for lunch when I'm at work or working from home. For some reason lunch is a mystery to me. I made this delicious salad for lunch today. Doesn't look like there's lettuce in there but there is I swear. This will be on my menu when I can start exercising and start tracking points/calories (when I get back from NY) - maybe with a few modifications.

  2. Amazon Subscribe and Save - Has anyone used Amazon's subscribe and save? I got an email about it after subscribing for Amazon mom and checked it out for diapers this weekend. We are using disposables for traveling and needed to get some. After pricing them out they turned out to be cheaper here than Target, WalMart, BJ's and other stores we checked out. Plus it's delivered right to the door! If we primarily used disposables This would be awesome. You can tell them what you want and how often to deliver it and they do it automatically (they send you an email before they ship your order). It's a great option! Definitely going to look into it for other paper products!

  3. Harry Potter - I'm a big Harry Potter fan. I can't wait to see this last movie! We won't be able to see it right away though (I've seen every one of them within 2-3days of being in the theatre) with the little one but hopefully my mom will be able to babysit for us 1 night next week so we can go watch. Super excited!

  4. Awesome Weekend of Sports - I'm a big sports watcher. I know I've said before that I'm a Yankees fan and I'm happy to see that Jeter got to 3,000 hits this weekend! He went 5 for 5 what an awesome game.

Did you see the Women's World Cup game?!?! That goal by Wombach was fantastic and Hope Solo is an awesome goalie, I might have a bit of a girl crush on her. :-)

Hope you all had a great weekend!
