What I Love Wednesday . . . .
I'm loving that we got all of the furniture put together and everything we have is in baby's room. Will try to post some pictures later this week! Now we're in wait mode until we get everything else!
I'm loving that it's going to be in the 70's/80's this weekend! Thank you spring.
I'm loving that Gap Give and Get Program is this weekend. That means 30% off! (Let me know if you want me to send you the coupon too!) We'll be doing some spring/summer shopping for hubby and maybe for baby boy too this weekend.
I'm loving that we found some cloth diapers to order and if you buy in bulk (12 at a time) you save $2 per diaper. We'll be going with the bumGenius Elemental One-Size Cloth Diapers!
I'm loving that my family shower is next weekend. So excited to see everyone! (and I may or may not have stalked my registry)
I'm loving the invitations for the couples shower our friends are throwing us in April. They are super cute!
I'm loving that March Madness starts this weekend! Yeah basketball! Go Orange!
Trying something new and linking up today! Happy Hump day!

27 Week Update!
I can't believe I haven't posted since Tuesday last week. :-( I am so busy at work it's crazy and I am so tired when I come home that I don't want to do anything at all! Hopefully I'll get some time for another post or 2 this week (I can barely read blogs, let alone write my own posts).
How far along? 27 weeks
Weight gain? 23lbs - As much as I hate reporting this, I still will.
Symptoms? It feels as though he may be trying to make it exit out my belly button. I can watch my stomach shift/move several times a day.
Sleep? I can't stand sleeping on my side. I want to sleep on my stomach already. I'm pretty sure I can't sleep on my left side because he's on my ribs and that's the pain I keep waking up with when I sleep on that side.
Food cravings? Milk and fruit. So yummy!
Movement? Yup! Like I said, all over the place.
Movement? Yup! Like I said, all over the place.
Gender? It's a boy!
Clothes? Maternity Pants and some maternity tops and some regular tops. I still have a few shower dresses to decide between.
What I am looking forward to? Painting is done! Furniture is put together. Now we're in wait mode until we get more stuff.

What am I missing? Sleeping on my stomach! Maybe a random glass of wine! Other than that everything is great.
Milestones? He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were born now.
Other? Had 26week appointment last week and was measuring on target (27 at 26.5wks). Next week is the 28week appointment and I have to do my gestational diabetes test. Not looking forward to that. Heart rate was same as usual 150bpm. A few more days until the third trimester officially starts!

20 Questions
Regan over at The Hollinsworth House tagged me in this 20 questions game. I haven't done one before so I thought I'd give it a try, plus I can't think of a non-baby post so this might help get me out of a rut! Head on over and check out her blog and cute nursery progress as she prepares for Lexi Belle!
Rule #1: The tagged person must write their answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
Rule #2: Tag 4 people to do this quiz. The tag-ee must state who tagged them.
1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?
We have one dog and she's treated like a member of the family really. This week after 4+ yrs, she finally started sleeping on her bed rather than the floor. It was like a milestone and it makes us laugh every time we see her there. I told K that it was like she was our kid who just slept alone in his/her room. (Let's hope baby C does it way before 4yrs old though!)
2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?

2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?
Hmm, I don't think I have one of these. I'm a pretty 'small goal' oriented person.
3. What would you do with a billion dollars?
I would pay off my debts (and my families) and donate to charity. Maybe even build a dream house or travel.
4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
Usually a hug helps the most or finding something to do to put my mind elsewhere.
5. What is your bedtime routine?
Pretty simple, brush my teeth, floss (getting a lot better at doing this), take out my contacts, go to the bathroom, and get changed. Yeah, I don't take off my make-up at night. Oops.
6. What activities did you do in High School? If you could go back, would you do the same stuff or something different?
6. What activities did you do in High School? If you could go back, would you do the same stuff or something different?
What didn't I do? I swear I don't know how my parents put up with me. I did soccer, basketball, softball, Key Club, Student Council, Band (including Marching/Pep Band), Choir (including select choir), Yearbook. Hmmm, I think I'm missing something.
7. What kind of books do you read?
I read mostly what people would categorize as 'chick list'. I love Nicholas Sparks. I read 'The Help' and 'The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes' outside of my normal list and liked them. Always looking for suggestions.
8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully our family is complete and our kids will be doing many different things. I plan to work and hopefully we'll be close to our immediate families.
9. What’s your fear?
Right now, being a mom is feeling kinda scary. I'm excited but oh so scared. The giving birth thing is right up there too.
10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?
Ummm, no, I'm not really into science-y stuff so outer space is just 'meh' to me. I love me some chocolate!
11. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Hit the snooze button! :-) Then hit up the restroom, because I can't go more than a few hours!
12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be?
Not sure how to answer this? His dedication to playing Ultimate Frisbee. Sounds weird but he plays so often (esp in the summer) that sometimes it can be annoying to plan things.
13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I like my name. Sometimes though I'd like to change to Elizabeth (middle name). I really like that one too, but I like Lauren, it's not too common. Though if baby c was a girl, I had a name picked out already!
14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
Duh, sun! I hate rain!
15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
Right now, I'd have to agree with Regan, I want a turkey sandwich! Sounds completely ridiculous. Or a glass of wine, but that's drinking, not eating. :-)
16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?
Finding new blogs and hearing from readers! Some days comments are like crack. They turn my bad day around!
17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?
Can I have both? At the same time? :-)
18. What items are in your purse right now?
Wallet, Phone, Keys, Hand sanitizer, lots of receipts, grocery list and paint colors.
20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn’t?
20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn’t?
In general probably just too much television. Though I used to watch John and Kate plus 8 and it took me a while to stop watching after that whole catastrophe.
I tag . . . . . (at least go check out their awesome blogs!)
Rachel at Rachel and John
Jessica at Heart on Homestead
Katie at Oui, Bien Sur
Ashley at Mrs. AshCakes
and anyone else that wants to join in . . . . . :-)

26 Week Update!
Weight gain? 22lbs - As much as I hate reporting this, I still will.
Symptoms? Not many! Though indigestion is setting in. I determined this weekend that pancakes are not a good idea!
Sleep? I can't stand sleeping on my side. I want to sleep on my stomach already.
Food cravings? Milk and fruit. In full force now!
Movement? Yup! Last night he was all over the place.
Gender? It's a boy!

Milestones? He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat.
Other? Don't forget to put your guesses into the online baby pool!

Painting Squares
Ok, so as I mentioned Monday, we started painting baby boy's nursery this weekend. We painted the closet and the molding/trim and last night we started wall trim.
And then, then, I saw this picture:
And then, then, I saw this picture:
on Parents.com
And now, I'm insistent that we try something like this. I don't know, is it too bold?
Project Nursery has a great tutorial for doing something like that. I was thinking, one wall with squares and the other 3 could be more of a neutral color.
Hubs says that he's ok with giving it a try (because it means he won't have to put up chair molding, ha ha).
Based on this picture:
we'd go with a blue, a green, and orange, a chocolate, a tan and a yellow. I'd show you them but they look rather weird on the Valspar website.
Anyone ever tried painting squares on a wall in their house? Do you think it's too bold and just stick with the 2-tones and chair molding. Hmmm, I'm torn, I just wanted to get other people's opinions. What do you think? (I wish I could paint my ceilings but they're popcorn and I'm not willing to take on that challenge.)
